A Florida woman is facing charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment after allegedly holding two boys at gunpoint while they were fishing near her backyard in Melbourne. The incident occurred on Friday (March 28) when Donna Elkins, 59, confronted the boys with a long black pellet gun, ordering them to the ground and threatening to "blow their heads off," according to an arrest affidavit.

The boys, who were fishing on a peninsula owned by a community development district, were about 30 feet from Elkins' property line. The situation de-escalated after Elkins' husband intervened and disarmed her.

Although the boys were not physically harmed, they reported being terrified, believing the weapon was real. One of the boys, Brayden, 15, expressed his fear, telling WRBW, "In my head, it was a real gun."

"That she was going to shoot us and kill us and the fact that she was saying she was going to blow our heads off, you can’t do that with a pellet gun," Brayde/n said. "I really thought it was real."

Elkins was arrested and booked into the Brevard County jail.
